About Me

My photo
I am a self-taught primitive and folk art designer and artist living in the most beautiful place on earth - the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Our home sits in a valley along the Cane River which inspired my shop name. My husband and I share our home with our 4 fur babies - 2 cats and 2 dogs. I love keeping busy with gardening, cooking, woodworking, painting, sewing - anything creative. Primitives and folk art have become my passion and nothing makes me happier than to have one of my pieces of art loved and treasured. I hope you will visit with me as I share my projects, ideas, and inspirations.

Gaining Momentum

Been a very busy week here in my little corner of the mountains. As I'm sure many of you know, the OFG team Spring Fling will be kicking off at the beginning of next week so that alone is enough motivation to keep my fingers flying as I design and create more little goodies for my shop. As is typical, this is the time when business flourishes and many orders and requests for custom work start to compete for time allotted for getting ready for a team celebration. No...I repeat...NO complaints here! I love working closely with my customers on creating something unique and special for them. Thank you to everyone who stops by and gives me a 'follow'. I will be working on getting all my teammates buttons, widgets ...whatever you're supposed to call them...added to my sidebar a little at a time. Thanks again to all of you for having a part in making my biggest dream just that much closer to a reality.

  1. Sounds like you are busy! Can't wait for the celebration to begin.See you there! :)

    1. Thanks, Colleen! I'm actually ready several hours early this time. Wow. Now what do I do???? LOL

  2. Isn't that the truth Kim? When it rains, it pours which for your business is a good thing! Happy sewing and thanks for adding my selling blog button here on your blog :O) Deb

  3. Welcome to blog land! Looks like a wonderful place to live.
We get a lot of custom orders too Kim. I love it when a customer knows what they want.

    1. THank you Carol. It is incredibly beautiful here. I've always wanted the country life and I got it in spades!
