About Me

My photo
I am a self-taught primitive and folk art designer and artist living in the most beautiful place on earth - the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Our home sits in a valley along the Cane River which inspired my shop name. My husband and I share our home with our 4 fur babies - 2 cats and 2 dogs. I love keeping busy with gardening, cooking, woodworking, painting, sewing - anything creative. Primitives and folk art have become my passion and nothing makes me happier than to have one of my pieces of art loved and treasured. I hope you will visit with me as I share my projects, ideas, and inspirations.

Barnyard Bonanza

Well, we're almost halfway through the Spring Fling! I hope everyone on the OFG team is doing well. I have several orders pending at the moment, one of which I designed from scratch and which I think is coming out beautifully. I designed a baby cow by request of a favorite customer of mine. I think you can expect her to make an appearance in my shop soon. Here are a couple of pics.

Still naked but not too far from finished
.

Stained but still needing painting, distressing etc. She is posing next to the large cow which I already carry in my shop. She still needs distressing and embellishing as well, but I'm very pleased with how well this is working out. =)
I also have orders for goats (shocking, I know) so I'd better get busy sewing!!!

  1. This is so adorable. I can’t wait until you show us the finished work. It is going to look so great and your costumer will be so pleased.
